Burgaw teens charged in vehicle shooting investigation


PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The Pender County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two teens accused of shooting into a vehicle with people inside.

On Monday, deputies met with two people who reported someone had shot at the vehicle they were riding in.

They reported the shooting happened on Copperhead Lane in Burgaw.

Deputies investigated and on Tuesday arrested Matthew Richard Pearce, 17, and Darren Tyshon Faison, 17.

Both teens are charged with two counts of malicious secret assault and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Faison is also charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

Both are in the Pender County Jail.

Pearce’s bond is set at $50,000.00 and Faison’s bond is set at $70,000.00.
