Wilmington still hottest city in state to retire to

Charlotte ranks low as a retiree destination among U.S. cities with 40,000 or more seniors, according to a study by Portfolio.com.
Charlotte is No. 115 among the 157 metropolitan and micropolitan markets with at least 40,000 residents classified as senior citizens, the study says.
Other N.C. cities in the rankings are Hickory (No. 81), Wilmington (No. 37), Asheville (No. 53), Durham (No. 80), Raleigh (No. 84), Winston-Salem (No. 136) and Greensboro (No. 139).
