WILMINGTON, NC (NEW HANOVER COUNTY) — New Hanover County will begin collecting your gently used Christmas Trees on Sunday. Residents are encouraged to recycle their once-live trees into mulch to help keep parks and school grounds green.
Trees may be dropped off through February 1 at:
* Ogden Park, baseball fields (Market Street entrance)
* Myrtle Grove Middle School
* New Hanover County Landfill
All decorations should be removed before disposal.
Residents are also reminded to keep recycling collection centers free from holiday debris by using the containers provided to dispose of wrapping paper and other remnants. Gift boxes should be flattened before being taken to a recycling center.
