EX-NC teacher accused of giving alcohol to teens

MICRO, NC (AP) — A former Johnston County middle school teacher has been arrested and charged with giving alcohol to teens.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that 40-year-old Kimberly Bailey Ward of Selma is charged with six counts of aiding and abetting underage possession of alcohol and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Ward resigned last week from North Johnston Middle School in the town of Micro. She had taught there since August 2008.

Arrest warrants say the teens were given alcohol last month.

It was not clear if Ward has an attorney.
