WPD: Baby-Daddy cuts woman’s face and arms

Location: 500 Block of N. 30th Street

Offense: Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury (ADWIKISI)

Summary: WPD officers were dispatched to NHRMC to interview a female victim who had been stabbed. The victim, age 22, had been driven to the hospital by a friend. The victim told officers that the father of her children, Terrell Courtney Battle, d.o.b. 8-19-1975, of Wilmington, had come to her residence and cut her with a knife. The victim sustained a puncture wound above her eye, as well as numerous cuts to her arms that required stitches. WPD officers obtained a warrant for Battle and apprehended him several hours later. Battle was charged with ADWIKISI for the Sunday incident, as well as Assault on a female for less serious incident that had occurred the night before. Battle is in custody at the NHC detention facility under $250,000 secure bond.
