Unemployment up in 99 of NC’s 100 counties
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The unemployment rate in the Wilmington metro area jumped 0.7 percent from December to January. Overall unemployment increased in 99 of the state’s 100 counties.
The Employment Security Commission says the rate for the five-county area crossed back into double digits at 10.6 percent.
