Kidnap charges lodged against Charlotte student
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — A Charlotte middle school student has
been charged with eight counts of kidnapping and two counts of
weapons possession after pulling a gun on a bus driver dropping him
off after school.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the Northeast Middle School
student tried to force the driver to take him to a different
location Monday afternoon, but the driver talked the student into
handing over the gun and the student left the bus.
A second student then told the driver he had a gun that he said
was given to him by the first student who wanted his help in the
confrontation. The second student did not assist his classmate.
The first boy was arrested Monday afternoon. His name has not
been released because of his age.
There were no injuries.
