Three busted for prostitution in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – On 05-13-2011, Brunswick County Vice Narcotic Agents arrested three persons in a prostitution sting in southern Brunswick County.

Arrested were:
Tammy Belinda Smith, 32, of 3020 Barnfield Rd. Conway, S.C.
Charges: Solicit for Prostitution. Solicit for Crimes against Nature. Bond: $1,000.00

In a separate incident, agents arrested a second woman and a male on similar charges: arrested were:
Kendra Lee Merritt, 29, of 3645 Fairway Ln. Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Charges: Solicit for Prostitution. Solicit for Crimes Against Nature. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond: $1,000.00

Alex George Schwed, 30, of 804 Waccamaw River Rd. Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Charges: Aid and Abet in Prostitution.

This charge stemmed from the defendant knowingly escorting Kendra Lee Merritt to the place where the prostitution offense occurred.

Bond: $1,000.00
