Flags lowered for Judge Carroll; funeral arrangements set

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Flags at New Hanover County buildings are at half staff in honor of late District Court Judge John Carroll.

Friends tell us Carroll died yesterday just days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had served on the bench in New Hanover and Pender Counties for more than a decade.

A visitation for Judge Carroll is scheduled for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. It’s at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel on South College Road.

His funeral service is Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church on Eastwood Road. He’ll buried at Greenlawn Cemetery.
