Hammerheads win on muddy field in NY

QUEENS, NY. – On any other night the Wilmington Hammerheads would have taken a pass on playing this game. It poured rain. Then it poured some more. The game started late. There was a weather suspension during the first half as well, but it turned out to be a three point night for the Wilmington Hammerheads. They beat FC New York 3-1 to claim three more points in the USL Pro standings. Luke Mulholland scored twice. Andryi Budnyy scored once. The Hammerheads are now in sole possession of second place in the USL Pro American division.

Wilmington will travel to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to play the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday night. The Hammerheads next home game will be Friday, August 5th against Los Angeles.
