Crooke charged with being a crook

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Sometime late Sunday night, someone broke into the Bargain Shack store at 5601 Oleander and stole a large metal box containing collectible coins.

Later in the day on Monday, WPD officers developed information about where to recover the stolen property.

Numerous stolen items were recovered, and Kellie McDowell Crooke, d.o.b. 10-11-1962, was taken into custody.

She is at the NHC detention facility, charged with B&E, larceny, possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond is $3500.
