Standoff suspect heads to court

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man police say caused an hours long standoff in Wilmington last night heads to court today, where a judge is expected to set bond.

James Lorrie Hall, 66, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female and communicating threats.

Police say the standoff began after they responded to a domestic violence call at a home at 1314 S. 7th Street after 4 p.m. EMS took a woman in the home to the hospital.

The SWAT team finally took Hall into custody around 9 p.m.
