Lockdown lifted at three Wilmington schools; alleged shooting victim not talking

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Three Wilmington schools were on lock down briefly this afternoon after a report of shots fired in the area. Williston Middle School, Gregory Elementary School and Lake Forest Academy were locked down as law enforcement investigated.

A Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman says officers responded to the area of 12th and Queen for the report of shots fired. They found the man who allegedly had been shot at, but he was unwilling to discuss what happened. Officers were not able to find shell casings. A police report is being completed.
