US Marshals arrest mall shooting suspect
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Authorities have arrested the suspect in connection with the Saturday shooting at Independence Mall.
U.S. Marshals caught Traneta Shanaia Campbell, 19, and Darius Nelson, 26, of Wilmington, Monday night.
Wilmington Police spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said Campbell and Nelson were in a shed behind a home in the 2400 block of Monroe Street. Lindsay said the pair was taken into custody without incident.
Wilmington Police detectives got a first-degree murder warrant on Campbell Sunday in connection to the shooting death of Catherine Ruth Ballard in the parking lot of Independence Mall Saturday afternoon.

Detectives charged Nelson as being an accessory after the fact.
Lindsay said Wilmington Police, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Deputies and New Hanover County Probation and Parole officers help in the search and arrest of Campbell and Nelson.
Campbell is in jail without bond. Nelson’s bond is set at $250,000.
