Men wanted on firearm charges arrested in Horry County
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Two men wanted by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are behind bars in Horry County.
The Sheriff’s Office says Jeffrey Wayne Barnes, 35, and James Edward Kohler, 28, were wanted on firearms charges.
Barnes faces a possession of a stolen firearm charge while Kohler faces a larceny of a firearm charge.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from an incident that happened at a home in the 1700 block of East Northwind Drive in Ocean Isle Beach between March 21 and 24.
The men were arrested in North Myrtle Beach and booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Facility on Monday.
They face multiple charges in Horry County before they’re brought back to Brunswick County.
In Horry County, Barnes faces possession of marijuana, receiving stolen goods, financial transaction card fraud and failure to appear charges.
Kohler’s Horry County charges include possession of marijuana, receiving stolen goods, multiple counts of breaking into motor vehicle or tank, pumps, where fuel/lubricants stored, financial transaction card fraud, simple larceny and financial transaction card theft.
