Boiling Spring Lakes mayor served with criminal summons

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — The Mayor of Boiling Spring Lakes has been served with a criminal summons.

Craig Caster is accused of misdemeanor assault on a female. According to the summons, Caster kissed a Leland woman on the lips. The woman went to the magistrate and got a warrant.

The alleged assault happened March 20.

Caster is due in court April 28.

Boiling Spring Lakes City Manager Jeff Repp says the city is of it, but it didn’t happen on city property or city time or during meeting.  Repp says it’s more of a personal issue with the mayor than it is with the city.
