Hope Abounds seeking nominations for Champion of Hope Award

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –Hope Abounds is looking for their next Champion of Hope.

The Champion of Hope is awarded to someone in the medical profession who has provided care or support to a cancer patient by demonstrating a life of caring for others.

According to a news release, the ideal person also selflessly and compassionately gives of him or herself, displays compassion, hope, optimism and who has dedicated themselves to improving the lives of those affected by cancer.

Hope Abounds says nominees must be professionally employed in a direct care or related support role to a patient who has received cancer care within the last five years.

Nominations are currently underway and will be accepted through June 30.

You can submit them online or mail them to Hope Abounds, Inc office at 1642 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.

The top three nominations will be honored during the Celebrate Hope Weekend at the Champion of Hope Luncheon on Friday, September 22.

The recipient of the 2017 Champion of Hope award will be presented at the luncheon.
