53 guns and cash stolen from Columbus County business

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Someone broke into a gun shop in Whiteville and stole dozens of guns.

It happened at the Gun Exchange at 2440 Red Hill Road.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says someone forced their way inside the business through one of the doors. Investigators say it happened after the business closed on Thursday and before it opened on Friday.

Cash and 53 guns ranging in price from $180 to $1460 were stolen.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
