Leland man accused of neglecting grandmother, stealing her guns


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Leland man is in jail under a $1.25 million bond after being arrested on several charges.

Edward Conner Gore, Jr, 24, lived with his grandmother. He is accused of stealing two revolvers and a rifle from her in April. According to warrants, he then sold one of the guns for $60.

From March 23 to April 13, Gore is also accused of neglecting his elderly, disabled grandmother. Warrants state as her caretaker, Gore failed to provide medical care and hygienic care.

Gore is charged with three counts of larceny of a firearm, obtaining property by false pretenses, felony neglect disable/elder serious injury, four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and first degree trespassing for entering a building in Northwest.

Gore has possession of a firearm by a felon charges because of a 2013 conviction of felony larceny.
