Wilmington Police investigating early morning deadly shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is dead after an early morning shooting Friday in Wilmington.

According to Linda Rawley Thompson with Wilmington PD, a shotspotter alert came in shortly before 2 a.m. from the 1300 block of Dawson Street.

When officers arrived they found Wallace Dailey, 57, of Wilmington, shot. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after.
