Massive tree uprooted after Hurricane Dorian

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY)– The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes in our area.

Dorian was one of those in Myrtle Grove. It scared residents and uprooted a massive tree.

Residents say they experienced a tornado that came from behind a house on Sandbar Lane, rapidly making its way to areas in Southeast Harbor Drive.

Some say, they could hear the tornado just seconds after they received a warning on their phones.

They say the tornado didn’t cause much damage to their homes like it did to their yards.
