Carolina Beach man faces a dozen of child sex charges

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A Carolina Beach man is in jail following an investigation into sexual assault offenses against a child.

According to the news release, officers with the Carolina Beach Police Department and Kure Beach Police Department executed a search warrant at 201 Fayetteville Ave. Unit 20 in Carolina Beach.

Detectives arrested 31-year-old David Chase Lewis for allegedly sexually assaulting a child between 2015 and 2019.

Charges include statutory rape of a child under 15 years old, indecent liberties with a minor, and statutory sex offense with a child under 15 years old.

Lewis is in the New Hanover County jail under a $2 million bond.
