Four sea turtles return to ocean, final scheduled release for 2017

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — The bright, warm sunshine set the stage for the perfect morning to release four sea turtles back into the wild.

During their time on land, they have been at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.

Stewey, Onslow Baby, Seaview IV, and March were taken to the shoreline and let go back into the wild this morning at a beach access in Surf City.

Two of the turtles were Green and the others were Kemp’s Ridley.

Allan Libby, Surf City tourism director, says this was currently the last scheduled release of the year.
