Man shot several times on Church Street

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man found lying in the road on Thursday night had been shot several times.

Wilmington Police responded to the 1400 block of Church Street around 10:45 p.m.

By the time they arrived, a small crowd had gathered around a man lying in the road. EMS transported the man to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police say due to the urgent need for medical care, he has not yet been identified.
