Leland adds pumpkin contest to annual Trunk of Treat Halloween
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Halloween is right around the corner and the Town of Leland will be hosting their 9th annual Trunk or Treat event later this month with some new additions.
The event is happening on Saturday, October 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Leland Municipal Park.
Area businesses and community organizations will join in the fun by decorating vehicles and passing out treats from their “tricked out” trunks.
New this year is a pumpkin decorating contest for those folks with creative carving skills. Pumpkins must be real with decorations and carving completed and free online registration completed prior to the event. Prizes will be awarded for Spooooookiest, Funniest, North Carolina Themed, Most Artistic, and Best In Show categories. Register online at www.townofleland.com/recreation.
“Trunk or Treating” and the Pumpkin Contest will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 6 p.m., the rain date is Sunday, October 29, times remain the same.
There is no fee to participate. Free parking will be available at Town Hall lots.
