Body found in Castle Hayne identified, NHSO investigates as homicide

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation after a body was found on Sunday shortly after 10 a.m. in Castle Hayne.

The body of Melquan Hicks-Bey was found in a wooded area off Alvernia Drive in Castle Hayne.

Melquan was shot multiple times throughout his body.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating.
