Burgaw teen charged with rape

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — A Burgaw teenager faces several sex crimes charges, including second degree rape.

According to a release from the Burgaw Police Department, the victim contacted them on Monday and told them they were sexually assaulted.

Police say after investigating, they arrested Jahliek Aaron Bucknal, 18.

He is charged with the following:

• 2nd Degree Rape
• 2nd Degree Sex Offense
• Sexual Battery

Bucknal was taken before a magistrate where he was given a $300,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
