Clerk accused of helping boyfriend rob Castle Hayne gas station

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A clerk who works at a gas station in Castle Hayne is accused of conspiring with her boyfriend to rob the business.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says the armed robbery happened at the EZ Mart in the 1600 block of Castle Hayne Rd. around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a news release, a white man dressed in black and armed with a gun entered the business and demanded cash. The robber took the cash from the register and ran off. Detectives began investigating and after interviewing the gas station clerk, Kayla Hubble, she was arrested for conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The sheriff’s office says Hubble conspired with John Austin Jarrett, her boyfriend, to rob the EZ Mart. Warrants have been issued for Jarrett.
