Man who stabbed ex-girlfriend, hit bystander pleads guilty
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is going to prison after attacking his ex-girlfriend with a kitchen knife.
The assault happened March 13, 2017. According to a news release from the district attorney’s office, Moss stabbed his ex in the head, face, arms, hands, chest and leg.
Afterwards, he hit a bystander in the face and took their car keys to try and take the vehicle and drive off. Moss was caught at the scene and arrested.
One week later, Moss spit in a deputy’s face at the New Hanover County Detention Facility.
On Thursday, Moss pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, common law robbery, and malicious conduct by a prisoner.
Judge Andrew Heath sentenced him to up to six years, followed by just over 2 years in prison.
