Man linked to two dollar store robberies arrested in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The man accused of robbing one store in Wilmington and trying to rob another just two hours later in Bolivia is now in jail.

Joshua Aaron Lynch, 23, is currently charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony probation violation in Brunswick County. He will face more charges in Wilmington.

Wilmington Police say Lynch is the man wanted for robbing the Family Dollar in the 1000 block of Market Street. It happened around 7:30 on Saturday night.

Police released surveillance photos that night of the suspect. During that robbery, police say he had a gun and took off with an unknown amount of cash.

Two hours later, there was an attempted armed robbery at the Dollar General on Southport-Supply Road in Bolivia, according to the incident report.

Warrants allege Lynch threatened to use a dangerous weapon ‘by holding hand in pocket as to display some sort of weapon’, which threatened the life of a store employee.

Lynch is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $550,000 bond.
