Wrightsville Beach to discuss parking rate increase during retreat
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — When the Wrightsville Beach Board of Alderman hold their retreat on Thursday, one item they will discuss is raising parking rates on the island.
According to town documents, the board recently held a workshop with Lanier Parking and plan to discuss a number of items related to parking.
The town is looking at reviewing an increase in the daily parking rate from $15, to $16, $17, and $18.
They’re also reviewing an increase in the hourly rate from $2.50 to $2.75 and $3.
The board will also look at all options for extending the beach hours of enforcement with both street parking and parking lots.
An ordinance to change the type of parking on old Causeway to paid parking and residential parking is also being considered.
The board will meet at 1 p.m. at Town Hall.
