Brunswick County man accused of beating and biting toddler

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is accused of abusing his 2-year-old child.

Cody Lee Banks, 20, of King Road NE in Leland, is charged with two counts of intentional child abuse-serious physical injury.

According to the arrest warrant, Banks assaulted the child which resulted in “bruises on victim’s back and bottom area, arms, legs, and other places on body” and on the child’s face, he left a “bite mark on left side.”

The alleged crimes happened between January 26 and January 31.

Banks is in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under $100,000 bond.
