Donut shop uses culinary skills to spread message about gun violence

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A local donut shop is using their culinary skills to spread a message about gun violence in our country.

Wake N Bake posted on their Facebook page Tuesday, “Regardless of if you are on the mental health side or gun control side, let’s all agree it’s time to #actnow to help stop these mass shootings from happening!”

This comes after 17 people were killed at a Florida school.

Wake N Bake has been known to make a statement using donuts. They were nationally recognized for their donut shaped like a “blunt”, in honor of rapper Snoop Dogg headlining the Azalea Festival, and most recently went internationally viral when they created a donut that resembled a Tide Pod.

Wake N Bake was named the best donut shop in NC for the second year in a row by BuzzFeed.
