Freeman Park posts removed by Town of Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The posts and rope are now gone from Freeman Park.

Earlier this month, property owners placed posts and ropes around new sea oats they had planted in what is historically known as the public part of the beach.

The property owners were fined and didn’t remove the ropes or posts by a deadline the state gave them.

The town says they removed the posts on Wednesday.

There’s no word yet on whether the town will charge the land owners for that process.
