Man wanted for allegedly trying to cash fake check at Sunset Beach bank
SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is in jail after he attempted to forge a check at a local bank.
Sunset Beach Police say it happened Monday around 1:15 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank on Sunset Boulevard.
Police say 41-year old Kenyon Douglas Ross of Charlotte allegedly tried to cash a check for $785.
While the teller consulted the manager, Ross left the bank leaving his driver’s license on the counter.
Police used the license and surveillance footage to identify Ross.
He was charged with attempted forgery and booked into the Brunswick County Jail.
