Kenan Fountain back on ahead of Azalea Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After being off for weeks, the Kenan Fountain in Wilmington is back on again.

The city announced back in mid-March that leaks resulted in high bills causing the city to shut off the fountain.

The fountain is old and joints between the hand crafted stones were having problems. Water was also leaking out of the bowls. The city hired a contractor put in a temporary seal so the fountain could be on prior to the Azalea Festival.

Orange cones still wrap around the foundation.
