Wilmington man arrested for allegedly hitting car with baby inside

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police arrested the man who they believe is responsible for a hit and run that caused more than $10,000 in damage.

Police say Zachary Ridley, 23, of Wilmington, hit a silver BMW in the rear at the corner of 2nd and Dock Streets around 10 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, totaling the vehicle.

The car had a baby in the back seat.

He will be charged with misdemeanor hit and run, driving during revocation, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision. He is also wanted for misdemeanor larceny.
