WPD investigating shooting that sent man to hospital

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An investigation is underway into a shooting in Wilmington that sent one man to the hospital.

A Wilmington Police spokeswoman said 21-year-old Malik Amar Point was shot in the bicep in the 100 block of Spring Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Friday night.

The spokeswoman said Point should be out of the hospital soon.

No word on a suspect.
