Art takes the spotlight in Carolina Beach

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Artists and their creations took the spotlight at the annual Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival Saturday.

There were more than fifty different vendors. From flowers and pottery to paintings and jewelry, there was something for everyone. The Island Arts and Culture Alliance organized and hosted the event. They also put together an interactive project for the community to join in on.

One vendor said this was his first time in Carolina Beach, but he cannot wait to come back next year.

“Well I love meeting the people. I mean to me a lot of folks come out here to sell, but for me I think it’s more about meeting people and kind of making them familiar with our family and the history we’ve got with the pottery much more than selling,” vendor Jason Craven said.

This event also helps raise awareness and supports local artists in the community.
