Brunswick County Fun with Fitness events being held this month

WINNABOW, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County Health Services is holding two events in May to promote physical activity and nutrition information. The first was in Winnabow Saturday at Town Creek Park.

There were fun games for kids to play like cornhole, hula hoop, and hopscotch.

There were also tips on healthy snacks and ways to stay hydrated for their parents.

Health educator Allison Campbell says the county has a responsibility to get this type of information out to the community.

“I think it’s our responsibility to just get out, connect with people, talk to them, give them information that they can take home and use and prepare healthy meals for their family and provide some physical education with activities they can use at home as well,” Campbell said.

Fun with Fitness will be held again May 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at Shallotte Park.
