Wilmington City Council to consider Black Lives Matter art installation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council will discuss a resolution at their meeting next Tuesday for a public art installation in support of Black Lives Matter.

According to the city, if it is approved a community group would spell out “Black Lives Matter” in the open space near Jervay Park.

This area is within walking distance to the Freedom Walk, the 1898 Memorial Park, and the Jervay Memorial Park Garden.

The resolution will also consider the creation of a designated public forum for artistic and cultural expression.
