WPD investigating parking deck shooting

WILIMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police say there’s no threat to the public, after shots were allegedly fired at a parking deck in the 100 block of Market Street around 2:25 a.m. Sunday.

A police officer spokesman says officers in the area heard about eight rounds of gunfire.

Police pulled over a red SUV after some citizens pointed to it, but no evidence was found relating to the shooting.

It is believed the gunfire may have stemmed from a verbal dispute, but there wasn’t any property damage or people hit.

If someone is eventually arrested, they would likely be charged with misdemeanor discharging a firearm within the city limits.
