According to ILM Deputy Director Gary Broughton, around 4 a.m., both the regular TSA lane and the TSA PreCheck lane were working as needed. Around 4:30 a.m., one lost power.

Travelers are currently being screened through one lane. Broughton said the airport wants to remind travelers it is important to arrive at least 2 hours prior to their flight.

“People were affected. I think we’ve heard from some that even though they were delayed getting out of here, they did make their connecting flights. Of course we’ve heard from others that did not. So I don’t know the exact numbers but it’s certainly been an impact on our passengers and we regret that,” Broughton said.

A TSA tech arrived in the afternoon but they are waiting for a part to come in and repair the machine.

ILM plans to update their Facebook page as they learn more about the situation.
