Wilmington city leaders talk options for CFMB replacement

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council discussed several road projects at its agenda meeting on Monday including the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Feasibility Study.

The bridge averages 60,000 cars per day and is expected to hit 82,000 by 2045.

The four options on the table right include both lift and fixed span options and could include a rail bridge and a multi-use path.

While funding options are still undecided, the range is prices for the four options range from $2 million to $6 million.

It could be 2022 before funding options are more clear.
