Crowded weekend expected as boardwalk rides get going in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — It’s officially that time of year again! Fun and rides are swinging through Pleasure Island.

The Carolina Beach Boardwalk Amusement Park is now completely open for business as all rides are up and running.

Most of the games and all food stands opened last weekend, but the rides didn’t until Wednesday.

Last week, the amusement park posted on Facebook saying they were still waiting for the inspection to be complete.

However, the State Department of Labor says they tried three times to inspect the rides but they were not ready.

Three of almost 20 rides failed inspection Wednesday. All but those rides are up and running.

WWAY reached out to the amusement park owners last week and again Friday, but still no response.
