Things to know about NC Blueberry Festival
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Barbecue, classic cars, and of course, blueberries! The 15th annual North Carolina Blueberry Festival kicked off Friday in downtown Burgaw.
Lots of things will be taking place including the “Whole Hog Barbecue Contest” and entertainment on the main stage Friday evening.
On Saturday, the festival really kicks in to high gear.
Based on previous years, there could be as many as 30,000 people in attendance and parking will be scarce near the courthouse square.
Handicap parking will be available on the 200 block of East Fremont Street.
Shuttles will be available on Saturday only from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. The parking locations for shuttles will be at Pender Landing Shopping Center (602 US Hwy 117) and at the Pender County Extension Offices (801 S. Walker Street).
Restrooms, ATMs and first aid will be available.
Pets, coolers, tents, outside alcohol or loud speakers are not allowed.
