WPD to release findings next week after car drives into river, killing 2
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department will release their findings next week after a car drove into the Cape Fear River, killing two men inside.
“The WPD Traffic Unit will present their findings on Tuesday, Sept. 8,” WPD wrote in a release on Friday. “There will be an update either that afternoon or the following day.”
Early on August 28, Wilmington police responded to the area at the base of Market Street in reference to a red car seen driving over a pier and sinking into the Cape Fear River.
The car was pulled from the water later that afternoon using a crane and tugboat.
Two men, 31-year-old Je’mel Sneed and 40-year-old Fredrick Brock, were found dead inside the car.
WWAY will bring you the new information when it becomes available.
