Bunting was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. At last check, he was in stable condition.
Bunting allegedly shot Daye earlier this year.
On January 21, Daye was found shot on South 15th Street. Police say the shooting was the result of a fight.
In February, Bunting was arrested in Greensboro and brought back to New Hanover County.
Bunting is scheduled to appear in court in late September for Daye’s shooting.
As for Daye, he is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
He is currently being held at New Hanover County Jail.
