WPD: Warrants issued for hit and run suspects who yelled racial slurs at family

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police have issued warrants for the arrest of a married couple they say was involved in a hit and run in late July.

Officers responded to the 400 block of South Kerr Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on July 28.

A family told police two men and one woman in a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck drove into their yard and yelled racial slurs at them before backing into traffic and hitting another vehicle.

Bryan Seth Parker, 25, the driver of the suspect vehicle, is charged with hit and run/ leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, simple assault and reckless driving to endanger. His wife, Tamara Elizabeth Nelson, 22, is charged with resist/hinder/delay an investigation and simple assault.

Police say the investigation found that the third passenger did not commit any crimes and will not be facing any charges.
