Jewish community holds vigil for victims killed in Pittsburgh synagogue shooting


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dozens gathered at the Reibman Center.. in Wilmington Sunday evening to remember the victims who were shot and killed Saturday at a Pittsburgh Synagogue.

The Jewish community gathered Sunday evening at a vigil for the victims of the attack. The Jewish community remembers the nine that were killed.

Five rabbis from five different congregations led the vigil. They say the community is strong and will not let this attack destroy them.

“We will never let a fear cause us to shrink away from fath. We will work together as one community to come together to show that we are resilient. That we are strong. Our jewish faith is thousands of years old,” said Rabbi Emily Losben Ostrov.

Wilmington Police joined in the vigil, showing their support for the Jewish community and law enforcement officers everywhere.
